Clamp retaining wrench (040) in vise.

Coat contact surface of hexagon collar nut at flange with universal hypoid gear oil.

Screw on and tighten self-locking hexagon collar nut

Replace self-locking hexagon collar nut.

Remove retaining wrench (040).

Component Identification

Pull out radial sealing ring using countersupport (01) and internal extractor (02).

Install

Coat sealing lip of new radial sealing ring with universal hypoid gear oil.

Press radial sealing ring into front axle gear housing using drift and suitable extension.
