Windows - Tool to Preheat Window Bonding Adhesive

MODEL 210 REGULATED CARTRIDGE HEATER

A Regulated Cartridge Heater (tool number 900 589 00 67 00) has been developed. It is designed to preheat the new adhesive material, supplied in
aluminum cartridges, which is required for bonding the rear window into the body flange on model 210 vehicles. The adhesive can also be used for the
front windshield. The heater will preheat and maintain the bonding material temperature at exactly 65°C. The cartridges must be kept in the heater for a
minimum of 20 minutes after the heater warms up to the desired temperature (it takes about 5 minutes for the heater to reach 65°C).

The new bonding material was developed to isolate the antenna, embedded in the glass of the rear window, from the vehicle body. The bonding material
is critical in its function of preserving structural integrity of a vehicle with its glass to metal transition, while isolating the antenna from the metal vehicle
body. Failure to use the proper adhesive will lead to diminished radio reception.
