Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect ground cable of battery

NOTE:
-

Turn key in electronic ignition switch EIS into position "0". Key cannot be withdrawn.

Vehicle fitted with code (889) Keyless-GO:
Switch off engine, remove Keyless Go cards from the vehicle and keep outside the range of the transmitter.

-

Installation:  Read out fault memory after connecting, adjust time display on combination instrument, code radio, normalize power window
and activate steering angle sensor.

-

Vehicles with stationary heater:
Adjust time display on stationary heater.

Remove front bumper

Turn wheels to the right

Drain engine oil and collect

Unscrew oil lines to oil cooler (1)

Disconnect electrical connection (2) from fan (5) of oil cooler (1)

NOTE:  Disconnect tie strap of electrical connection (2).

Unscrew bolts (3) of bracket (4)

Remove oil cooler (1) with bracket (4)

Unscrew fan (5) from oil cooler (1)

Open bracket (4) and remove oil cooler (1)

Pull oil cooler (1) out of bracket (6) on left and right

NOTE:  Installation:
-

Check rubber rings for damage.

-

Slightly moisten rubber rings with sealing compound.

Install in the reverse order

Read out fault memory with STAR DIAGNOSIS and erase if necessary.

DANGER:

Risk of accident, Accidents may result if the vehicle starts off unintentionally with the engine running. Risk of injury as working
around the engine during start-up or while running may result in contusions and burns

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.

-

Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.

-

Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Run engine and inspect for leaks

Check engine oil level, replenish oil if necessary.
