Replace Rear Crankshaft Radial Seal

Remove automatic transmission

Remove flywheel (3)

Remove end cover (1)

NOTE:
-

Carefully lever off end cover with an angled screwdriver at the two marked points (see detail).

The crankshaft radial sealing ring of the factory-fitted end cover cannot be replaced; for this reason the end cover must be replaced.

Replace rear crankshaft radial sealing ring (2)

CAUTION:  Installation:  Circumference and lip of the crankshaft radial sealing ring as well as the counter tread on the crankshaft must
be free of oil and grease in order to guarantee the proper function.

NOTE:  Pay attention to dowel sleeves when pressing on end cover.

DANGER:
-

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury as working around the engine during start-up
or while running may result in contusions and burns

-

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving off by itself.

-

Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Carry out engine test run

Install in the reverse order.

NOTE:  Before installing transmission, inspect for oil leaks.
