Wiper Motor: Removal and Replacement

Remove wiper system (1)

Detach wiper arms (2) from the motor crank (3)

Unscrew nut (4) and detach motor crank (3) from wiper motor (M6/1)

Only when replacing wiper motor (M6/1)

Unscrew bolts (5)

Remove wiper motor (M6/1)    

DANGER:
-

Risk of explosion from hydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injure to eyes
and skin suffering caustic burns from battery electrolyte or from contact with damaged lead acid batteries.

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

-

Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers

Move wiper motor (M6/1) to parking position

7

Join wiper motor (M6/1) and screw in bolts (5)

Screw on wiper motor attachment: 9 N.m

Join motor crank (3) to wiper motor (M6/1)

Only when replacing wiper motor (M6/1)

NOTE:  Installation: Position must be noted, wiper arms (2) and motor crank (3) have to be in alignment.

Tighten nut (4) of motor crank (3)
-

Only when replacing wiper motor (M6/1)

Nut on wiper motor shaft
-

 18 N.m  (Model 211.0)

-

 25 N.m (Model 211.2)

Attach wiper arms (2) to the motor crank (3)

Install wiper system (1)
