General

The COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) is the central control for the entertainment and communication systems integrated in the
vehicle.

The following subfunctions, which are described in separate documents, are included in the COMAND operating, display and controller unit:

Voice control function, with code (527) COMAND APS (with navigation) or with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer

The COMAND operating, display and controller unit acts as a gateway. It routes signals from the interior CAN to the Media Oriented System Transport
(MOST) components and thus forms the communications interface.

The COMAND operating, display and controller unit communicates with the following control units via MOST
