Function sequence for stowage compartment lighting
The stowage compartment lighting components are supplied with power by the front SAM control unit and cannot be switched on and off manually.
The EIS [EZS] control unit transmits the circuit status of circuit 15 to the front SAM control unit via the interior CAN. The status of circuit 58d is made
available on the interior CAN by the instrument cluster (A1). The stowage compartments in the center console are illuminated by the components listed
below.
On model 164.1/8:
-
Front center console illumination (E36/2)
On model 251.0/1 (depending on vehicle equipment):

Circuit 15R ON
Function sequence for glove compartment illumination
The glove box illumination with switch (E13/2) is supplied with power by the rear SAM control unit (N10/8) via the circuit 15 connector sleeve (Z50/5)
and switched on by opening the glove compartment lid.
The EIS [EZS] control unit transmits the circuit status of circuit 15 to the rear SAM control unit via the interior CAN.
The power supply for the glove box illumination is interrupted by closing the glove compartment lid or automatically after a period of t = 15 min after
bus idle (with the glove compartment lid open) to save the battery.
