Equipped with Option Code 864, rear Seat Entertainment rear Displays Intermittently or Permanently Dark/Inoperative

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles equipped with option code 864 (Rear Seat Entertainment System, RSE) of the displays
intermittently or permanently dark, this may be due to a broken connector of the rear display. to remedy, follow the steps outlined below.

NOTE:

The break in the connector may be internal and not visible externally.

1. remove the cap of the effected display (Figure 1) and inspect the proper contact/mating of the blue (8-PIN) LVDS video display connector (Figure 2)
by applying minor tension to verify secure and proper contact. While applying this minor tension, check if picture integrity and quality remains visible
without any darkness or signal interruptions.
