All Activity Module (AAM) Cannot Be Programmed
Note:
For information only
On the above model vehicles, if you encounter occurrences where the All Activity Module (AAM) cannot be programmed properly or the AAM is not
learning a key, the following information should be noted.
Note:
Do not replace any parts to remedy this situation
1.
Using Star Diagnosis, enter the following menus: Control Units --> Body --> AAM --> Initial Start-up --> Initial start-up with automatic takeover
of settings of previous control unit or Initial start-up with manual settings input for new control unit.
2.
When you reach the step labeled, "Learn radio code of a new transmitter key", the following additional note should be adhered to:
a.
Model Year 1998 and 1999 (up to VIN A145272), the AAM should be coded with key in position 1.
Note:
As of Model Year 2000 (as of VIN A145273) the AAM can be coded with key in either position 1 or 2.

Follow the remainder of the on-screen instructions in STAR Diagnosis for the proper procedure for coding the AAM.
