Superimposing the voice command and an audio source

If at the same time as the voice command an audio source (e.g. CD, radio) is active, the audio source is then superimposed.

Speech command volume

The voice command volume can be adjusted during a voice command. A definable interval is maintained automatically between the volume of the
current audio source and the volume of the voice output (interval can be changed in "Settings" menu).

If during a voice command the volume is reduced, and the specified volume difference to the audio signal was undercut, the COMAND operating,
display and control module (A40/3) in response lowers the audio signal level far enough until the specified volume difference is reached again. After
voice command has taken place, the volume of the audio signal is increased to match that of the voice command. The voice command volume cannot be
set to a value lower than the specified minimum level.

Voice output mute circuit

The navigation voice output can be switched to mute with the mute button (button with crossed-out loudspeaker symbol) during a voice command.

Muting is only valid for each currently active language. When the navigation voice command and an audio source ( CD, radio ,..) can be heard, then the
first press of the mute button  mutes the navigation voice command and after a second press the entire playback.
