Headlamp Control Module: Service and Repair

Remove/Install Xenon Headlamp Control Module

- with CODE (612b) Xenon headlamp unit
- 163.154/174 #A up to 289564

Remove/Install

Danger:

-

Danger from Xenon headlamp high voltage

-

Do not touch parts which conduct high voltages. Persons with active electronic implants (e.g. heart pacemakers) should never work on
xenon headlamps.

Remove left front headlamp unit (E1) or right front headlamp unit (E2)

Remove cover from rear of headlamp unit

Disconnect plug (1, 2) on Xenon headlamp control module (E1n1, E2n1)

NOTE:  Turn connector (2) %U turn counterclockwise.

Remove xenon headlamp control module (E1n1, E2n1)

NOTE:  Carefully press control module off of mount using long wedge

Installation wedge: See Special Tools below.

Install in the reverse order

Adjust headlamp into zero position using STAR DIAGNOSIS

Inspect headlamp adjustment, correct if necessary.
