Windshield Damage During Removal of Inside Rearview Mirror

On the above models, when removing the inside rearview mirror, particular care must be taken not to damage the windshield during the procedure
outlined in WIS document AR68.40-P-0001GI (Removing and Installing Inside Rearview Mirror). Due to excessive spring clip tension, windshield
damage may occur, because of excessive force being applied during mirror removal. If you find that the mirror does not release from it's mount with only
moderate force, follow the procedure below.

1.

Remove trim cover on mirror base.

2.

Remove Overhead Control Panel as per WIS document AR82.20-P-1100GH.
