Connecting Rods & Pistons
A group code letter A, B or X is punched into piston crown. Group code letter is also stamped into cylinder crankcase parting surface. For repairs
only, pistons with group code letters X are available. Pistons A can be installed in cylinders marked A, 0 or X; pistons B in cylinders, B, 1, 2 or X,
and pistons X in A, B, X, 0 or 1.
Connecting rod bolt maximum shank length is 2.083 inches.
Torque connecting rod bolts to 22.1 ft. lbs., then turn an additional 90-100°.
