Data Link Connector: Description and Operation
Stored DTC's can be read at the diagnostic connector (X11/4) using either an impulse counter scan tool or the Mercedes Hand-Held Tester (HHT).
DTC's from the Diagnostic Module only (DM) can be accessed with a generic scan tool via the OBD II diagnostic connector (X11/22).
Refer to Computers and Control Systems, System Diagnosis for instructions on how to access the DTC's. See: Testing and Inspection
NOTE: Diagnosis via an on-off ratio readout has been eliminated.
NOTE: The retained DTC memory feature of the DTC memory for the Diagnostic Module has been replaced with DTC memory which is cleared after
disconnecting the battery.
