PLEASE REPLACE MB-NET ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE # 410, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, 1994 WITH THE FOLLOWING

SUBJECT:GROUP 07 - ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (HFM) ENGINE M111/104

NOTE: UPDATE TO MB-NET ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE NO. 301 DATED JULY 8, 1994

When ordering a replacement engine control module, the applications for the different models as outlined in the Parts Microfiche must be followed in
order to avoid engine performance complaints.

Engine M111 - C220:

Up to My 1994 part no. 013 545 09 32 or 016 545 52 32
As of My 1995 part no. 017 545 84 32

Engine M104 - C280:

Up to Chassis No. F073634 part no. 013 545 73 32
From Chassis No. F073634 part no. 016 545 53 32

Engine M104 - E320:

Up to Chassis No. C117897 part no. 017 545 32 32 OR 018 545 67 32
As of Chassis No. C117898 part no. 016 545 57 32

Engine M104 - E280

Engine M104 - SL320:

Replace with same part number as installed in vehicle.

Engine M104 - S320:

NOTE: In case of performance/idle complaints, it is very important to check if the correct ECU is installed, the coding is correct (refer to Service
Information 07.5/1) and the correct vehicle version has been stored in the engine control module memory.

If any of the above is incorrect, cancel the coding and re-code with the correct code (refer to Service Information 07.5/1 and MB-Net Administrative
Message No. 301 dated July 8, 1994) and/or cancel the engine control module with the HHT and reset (see Intro. Manual MY 1993 page 25) as follows:

Vehicle standing (parking brake applied)

-

Shift selector in position P or N

-

Ignition on

-

Wait > 10 seconds

Vehicles with HFM-ECUs without coding:

-

Drive vehicle at a speed greater than four miles per hour. (To enable ECU recognition of transmission version)

After the procedure is completed check if the set valves are correct. If programming is not successful, repeat procedures.

We would also like to remind you that after exchanging engine control modules and/or after performing engine repairs, the long-term adaptation should
be cancelled to allow the system to adapt to the changes.
