Model Year 2000 S, CL and 2001 S, CL and C-class with Bose
Popping or Thumping In Speakers
If you encounter instances of "popping" or "thumping" in speakers or subwoofer on the above mentioned models, please replace the Bose audio
amplifier (A2/13). Note that each model has a different part number for the Bose amplifier and the parts are not interchangeable between models since
they account for the tuning of the amplifier to the acoustics of the vehicle. Verify that the Q level listed is installed during replacement in the vehicle.
Earlier Q level parts should be returned to the facing PDC.
This issue only applies to D2B Bose amplifiers. Analog amplifiers are not affected.
