Ignition off

The actuation motors move to the following positions one minute after switching off the ignition:

Footwell flaps

0% (without rear air conditioning)

100% (with rear air conditioning)

Defroster flaps

0%

-

All other flaps remain in the last set position

Ignition on

The following positions apply for the first 30 seconds after switching on the ignition:

Footwell flaps

0% (without rear air conditioning)

100% (with rear air conditioning)

-

Defroster flaps

0%

-

Blend flaps depending on exit temperature of air or manual setting on center vent

-

Diverter flaps automatically depending on air exit temperature or manual setting on center vent

-

Thereafter the automatic flap states for manual settings apply

Exceptions

-

Cold start inhibit: the defroster nozzles must open immediately when the outdoor temperature is < - 5 °C and simultaneously the coolant
temperature < 40 °C when the ignition is switched ON.

Unit in A/C mode: footwell must close immediately after switching ignition on

-

Defrost program: logic lock-up, electronic nozzles must open immediately and footwell must close immediately when ignition is switched on.

Mode change to automatic flap operation

Generally there is a so-called mode change-over range for all flaps at the transition from the heating mode to the A/C-mode and vice versa.

Setting deviation < - 4 °C

0% (without rear air conditioning)

100% (with rear air conditioning)

Defroster flaps

40%
