Illustration Shows Rear Propeller Shaft

Remove/Install

Remove propeller shaft

Label front and rear propeller shaft (12) in relation to three or four-arm flange (arrows) and remove
-

Check flexible coupling for damage and replace if necessary

NOTE:  Replace self-locking nuts

Loosen fitted sleeves of flexible couplings

Remove front and rear flexible coupling (12)

Remove vibration damper (model 220.028/128) (20) from the rear propeller shaft (2)

NOTE:  Installation:  Mount vibration damper (model 220.028/128) (20) and propeller shaft as per labeling

Separate front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2) at the slide connection

NOTE:  Installation:  Assemble propeller shaft Coat splined profile with Molykote grease.

Inspect

Check centering sleeve (10) in front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2)
