Function

The air to the door vents (1) can be controlled by opening the side nozzle
adjustment wheel (2)

Side nozzle and air outlet to door vent 
(1) open. Air exits at the door vent.

The defroster nozzles serve for ventilation and keeping the windshield and side windows from fogging up.
