Seat Occupant Sensor: Service and Repair

Front Passenger Seat Occupied Recognition Sensor:

Removal and Installation:

1. Remove front passenger seat.
2. Unclip electrical connectors [1] for seat cushion on seat connector strip.

For this purpose it is necessary to unclip the rear plastic cover.

3. Loosen cable straps for affected wires.
4. Remove seat cushion.
5. Remove cover on seat cushion.
6. Loosen center section of rubber pad or heating cushion [2] and lift up.
7. Remove front section of rubber pad or heating cushion.

Do not completely separate foam rubber pad from rubberized fiber mat.

8. Pull electrical connector for Front Passenger Seat Occupied Recognition Sensor [B41/1] through opening in rubberized fiber mat.
9. Remove front passenger seat occupied recognition sensor from rubberized fiber mat.

10. Install in reverse order.

Lay Recognition Sensor uniformly on rubberized mat. The fabric side should face upward.

Do not kink the recognition sensor.
