Valve Guide: Testing and Inspection
PRECEDING WORK
Cylinder head removed.
Valves removed.
PROCEDURE
Inlet and exhaust valve guides:
Check with gauge in lengthwise and transverse direction. Check whether the no-go stud with the wear limit size (+ 220) can be inserted into the
valve guides over its entire height (5 mm).
If the gauge can be inserted over its entire height, replace valve guide.
Seat of valve stem seal at inlet and exhaust valve guides:
Check. If seat is worn so that valve stem seal is no longer properly seated, replace valve guide.
