Oil Cooler: Service and Repair

PRECEDING WORK

Front bumper removed.

OVERVIEW

Front bottom engine compartment panel (7):

take off, fit on.

Oil lines (9 and 11) of air-to-oil cooler (2):

unbolt, bolt on (30 Nm); brace with wrench (WAF 27) at hexagon head (14).

Bolts (5):

unscrew, screw on.

Bracket (4) with rubber bushes (6):

pull off, fit on.

Installation Note
The retaining lug (arrow) on the bracket (4) must engage in the recess  (arrow) at the mounting bracket (8).

Air-to-oil cooler (2) at mounting brackets (8):

take off, fit on.

Leaks:

check when engine warm.

Note
The oil circulates in the air-to-oil cooler (2) once the thermostat valve in the oil filter housing opens. 

Oil level:

check, adjust to correct level.
