Condenser Fan: Description and Operation

The auxiliary fan (M4) serves for cooling the coolant and refrigerant.
 

Auxiliary Fan Switching Points

In the 1st stage, the auxiliary fans cannot cut in at outside temperatures < +5 °C, but do cut in at outside temperature > +10 °C.

NOTE:  Parts which have come into contact with compressor oil for R12 or R134a may only be installed in systems operating with the same refrigerant.

The auxiliary fans (M4) are switched on with infinite speed adjustment depending on the refrigerant pressure and/or coolant temperature.

The pushbutton control module receives the coolant temperature from the A/C coolant temperature sensor and the refrigerant pressure from the
refrigerant pressure sensor.

This input information is transferred to the auxiliary fan control module by the pushbutton control module. The auxiliary fan control module processes
this information and compares it with stored values. The resulting request for the fan output is then transferred to the auxiliary fan.
