Component Identification

Location

The heater heat exchanger is located in the rear AC housing.

Task

The heater heat exchanger warms the air flow which is directed to the vehicle interior via the various air distribution vents.

Function

Heated coolant flows through the heating system heat exchanger when heat is required. The supply is controlled by the left duovalve (A31/1y1) and the
right duovalve (A31/1y2). Upon request of the AAC [KLA] control unit (N22/1), the corresponding duovalve is opened or closed.

The heat is conducted to the outside via the coiled pipes and lamella. This in turn heats the passing air flow, which is directed to the vehicle interior via
the various air distribution vents.
