Camber with 0° toe in: 0°35' (-20' / +10')

Caster with 0° toe in: 10°15' ±30'

-

Caster with wheels turned: 9°55' ±30'

4. Fully loosen and tighten the bracket/stabilizer bar (22b) on the wishbones

5. Adjust camber (front cam bolt. l9) and caster (rear cam bolt, 20) on the mount of

NOTE:

The wheel spreader must not be used during camber and caster adjustments.

If the specified value of camber or caster cannot be reached check the upper wishbone, steering knuckle and body for accident damage, as well
as the supporting joints and follower

6. When adjustments are complete, tighten as follows:

Nut of Stabilizer bar bracket: 20 Nm

-

Nut of cam bolt: 120 Nm

Check Front Toe Angle Differential

1. Check and adjust toe-in at front axle
2. Checking toe-out on turns

-

Toe-out on turns is measured to check the steering geometry. This is the difference in wheel steer angle between the wheel on the outside of the
curve and the wheel on the inside of the curve when the wheel on the inside of the curve is steered through 20°

Greater deviations may be due to the following causes, assuming that the camber and caster are correctly adjusted.
a. Toe-in not adjusted in the straight ahead position of the steering gear so that the track rod lengths are uneven
b. Steering knuckle arm, pitman arm, or steering idler arm distorted
c. Excessive deviations at the front end on vehicles involved in accidents (frame longitudinal member, frame cross member, wheelhouse and

firewall or on the front axle carrier) which have an adverse effect on the range of adjustment for amber and caster so that large differences
in toe-out on turns result between the left and right

Toe-out on turns with inner wheel at 20°:
-

Range: -0.25 to -1.25°

-

Preferred: -0.75°

Checking and Adjusting Front Wheel Toe-In

NOTE:  Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

1. Fix steering wheel in center position using locking device (055) tool No. 129 589 01 21 00, or equivalent.
