Automatic Suspension - Hydraulic Fluid Leaks

Model 220 and 230 with Active Body Control (ABC) 

Hydraulic Oil Leakage at ABC System

If you encounter hydraulic oil leakage within the Active Body Control System (ABC) in the above models, perform the following procedure.

1)

Identify the location of the leaking component.

2)

Depressurize the ABC hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Drain the hydraulic oil through the appropriate bleed
screws shown in Figure 1 (front # 56, rear # 57). WIS document AH32.50-P-0001-01N. Wear protective clothing and eye protection. WIS
document AS00.00-Z-0013-01A.

Note: 

Wait for pressure relief in the ABC system. Pressure is relieved 10 minutes after the engine is shut down. Open bleed screw(s) carefully so that the
hydraulic oil can drain out slowly in order to prevent the vehicle's body from dropping too rapidly.

3)

Thoroughly clean the hydraulic line.

Note: 

When working on the ABC system, the area around the oil pressure line connections and the components to be removed must be cleaned before
commencing repair work.

4)

Loosen the identified leaking hydraulic line.

5)

Center and tighten the hydraulic line without tension.

Note: 

It is only possible to ensure that the line connections are properly tightened when they are positioned tension-free. In order to ensure that the line is
installed tension-free, tighten the nuts as far as possible by hand and then tighten to the specified torque with tool. Refer to torque specification chart.

6)

Fill and bleed the ABC hydraulic system. WIS document AP32.50-P-0021 N.
