Backup Lamp Actuation, Function

Operational sequence

Basic prerequisite:
-

The electronic key in the ignition/starter switch is in position "2".

The selector lever of the electronic shift lever module control module (N15/5)and the automatic transmission (N15/6) is set to "R".

The electronic shift lever module control module (N15/5) and automatic transmission (N15/6) signals "Reverse gear engaged" to the EIS control
module (N73) via the data bus (2).

The EIS control module (N73) transforms the signal and signals "Reverse gear engaged" to the rear SAM control module via the passenger
compartment CAN bus.

The rear SAM control module actuates the reversing lamp in the left and right taillamps (E3e3 and E4e3).
