TELE AID, general
The name TELE AID stands for TELEMATIC ALARM IDENTIFICATION ON DEMAND. TELE AID is an automatic emergency call system using
the availability of new technologies such as vehicle location finding via satellite and wide distribution of mobile telephone network for reducing accident
causes (rescue time reduction). Emergency calls and precise location description are automated by TELE AID and therefore do not depend on incorrect
human behavior in stress situations.
Information processing of systems associated to TELE AID is performed via conventional wiring and vehicle's own bus systems (CAN and D2B =
digital data bus or fiber optic cables).
TELE AID includes three services:

Function sequence for a TELE AID emergency call
A TELE AID emergency call can be actuated automatically or manually.
The following actuation procedures should be distinguished:

Automatically,

by the restraint system control unit (N2/7) OR

by the external tilting cone sensor (B66).

Manually,

by operating the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3)
