Water Ingress in Area Below Bottom Rear Window Seal
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding water ingress in the area below the bottom rear window seal (Figure 1, arrow), this
may be due to the seal coming loose (Figure 2) from the rear window. A new seal with a new part number is now available which omits the self adhesive
feature of the previous seal. To resolve, perform the following.
1. Protect the trunk in the repair area to prevent soiling the trunk panels.
2. Move Vario Roof to intermediate or repair position. With the ignition switch left on, the roof will remain in this position for approximately 15
minutes before moving. A chime will sound as an alert that the roof will soon start to move. Cycling the key will allow the roof to remain in this
position for approximately an additional 15 minutes.
3. Remove nuts at bottom of rear window frame.
