GF82.95-P-2005R Emergency Call Telegram Transmission, Function

After a TELE AID emergency call has been triggered (automatically or manually) the D2B telephone and TELE AID transmitter/receiver (A35/17)
generates an emergency call telegram and then transmits it to the service provider via mobile telephone (digital network).

In the case of an emergency the D2B telephone and TELE AID transmitter/receiver (A35/17) take over the sole control of the telephone system to ensure
the following:

If the telephone has been switched off before the emergency alarm is triggered, it is activated.

^

An existing telephone connection is interrupted.

^

operating the telephone with the aid of the handset (A34) is no longer possible.

The radio link is established through the telephone system with the aid of the CTEL antenna (A2/22). If the CTEL antenna (A2/22) is no longer
operational because of an accident, the CTEL and TELE AID transmitter/receiver, D2B (A35/17) switches over automatically to the TELE AID backup
antenna (A2/50). If the power supply is interrupted (for example battery interruption) the D2B telephone and TELE AID transmitter/receiver (A35/17)
switches automatically over to the additional battery (G1/1).

The service provider receives the emergency call. He has a graphic-capable workstation with road data base. There, among others, the location of the
vehicle is determined from the information of the emergency call telegram. The service provider transmits the decoded emergency call telegram to the
responsible service center (police, fire brigade, German Red Cross, ....).

The emergency call system must be authorized to transmit an emergency call telegram.

After a TELE AID telediagnosis has been triggered, the D2B telephone and TELE AID transmitter/receiver (A35/17) generates an emergency call
telegram and then relays it to the Mercedes- Benz Customer Assistance Center (CAC) via mobile telephone (digital network). Then a radio connection
(voice connection) is completed to the vehicle.

In the case of an emergency the D2B telephone and TELE AID transmitter/receiver (A35/17) take over the sole control of the telephone system to ensure
the following:

If the telephone had been switched off before the actuation, it must be activated

^

An existing telephone connection is interrupted.

The radio link is established through the telephone system with the aid of the CTEL antenna (A2/22).

If the CTEL antenna (A2/22) is no longer operational because of an accident, the CTEL and TELE AID transmitter/receiver, D2B (A35/17) switches
automatically over to the TELE AID backup antenna (A2/50). If the power supply is interrupted (for example battery interruption) the D2B telephone
and TELE AID transmitter/ receiver (A35/17) switches automatically over to the additional battery (G1/1).

The Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center (CAC) has a graphic-capable workstation with street data base. There the information from he
emergency call telegram serve for determining the vehicle location and the vehicle status and the required steps to be taken can be clarified with the
Mercedes-Benz experts by telephone.
