Engine Control Module: Adjustments

If an injection control module is the suspect problem or defective, it should be replaced with a known good or new unit. After replacement, the control
module's "self-adaptive" feature must be reset to erase any "learned" values. Each injection control module (LH-SFI) must be reset individually. 

SPECIAL TOOLS

The following special tools are required to perform the reset procedure:

Impulse Counter Scan Tool

a. Impulse counter scan tool# 124 589 19 21 00 (or equivalent).

Impulse Counter Adapter

b. Impulse counter adapter# 140 589 14 63 00 (or equivalent).

Test Equipment Hook-up

TEST EQUIPMENT HOOK-UP

Connect the Impulse counter (013) and adapter (075) according to connection diagram. LED "U-Batt" must light up. If "U-Batt" does not light up,
check power supply and impulse counter fuse.

CLEARING FAULT CODE MEMORY AND RESETTING ECM

1. Turn ignition "ON".
