Trailing Arm: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Refer to the illustration during removal procedures.

Observe installed position of thrust arm cover before removal.

WARNING: Risk of accident when picking up a rear axle half, vehicle must not lift off platform surface 

INSTALLATION

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
-

Replace self-locking hexagon bolts and nuts.

-

The rear axle shaft must be horizontal when the nuts are tightened

-

Remove wiring brackets (20d) if installed

-

Tighten the following components as noted:
-

Self-locking nut, thrust arm to rear axle carrier: 70 Nm 

-

Self-locking nut, thrust arm to wheel carrier: 40 Nm
