TV-mode, function

The liquid crystal display (LCD) color display of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) is used for television reception. TV
reception is activated using the "TV" button and is only available when the vehicle is stationary. The video signals are transmitted internally from the TV
tuner integrated in the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) to the display. The required tone settings (volume, bass, treble and fader)
are made using the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). The functionality runs in the COMAND operating, display and control unit
(A40/3) or in the sound amplifier (A2/13) (model 230.467 with Code (810) Sound system), which also takes over the final amplification of the audio
signals. The amplified audio signals are then output via the vehicle speakers.

Search and store station

In TV mode the stations can be searched for and stored using the following functions:

Set station by channel selection

Station selection by direct channel entry

Station selection from station memory

It is possible to store up to 2 x 12 stations.

"TV mute" function

Pressing the "Mute" button enables the driver to mute the audio sources. The "mute" status of the audio sources is maintained if this was activated before
the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) was last switched off.

Displaying mute status in the TV screen

When Mute is active (muting), then a mute symbol is shown at the top right of the display in the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).
To enable the mute status to be displayed in the TV screen, the mute status has to be sent by a new command to the TV tuner in the COMAND
operating, display and control unit (A40/3). The setting which was performed last before switching off the ignition, is adopted when the ignition is
switched on again.

The "TV" function is only available when the vehicle is stationary and the parking brake actuated. When driving, only acoustic playback is active and a
warning message is shown on the display of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).
