Complaint:
Oil warning message in instrument cluster
Occurrence:
1. While driving
2. After oil change
3. After repair
Cause:
Oil level too low/outside the specified values
The specified values have been adapted in DAS with update 06/04
NOTE:
The oil level check on M275 is performed only using DAS.
A check using a (test) dipstick is not planned.
Never replace the oil sensor based on a suspension alone!
The oil sensor should only be replaced when there is a clear fault code and be returned with a appropriate fault printout.
Remedy:
Correct the oil level
It is essential to observe the following in the process:
1. Park the vehicle on level ground
2. Bring oil temperature to >/= 90°C
3. Allow the engine to run for approx. 30 seconds at idle
4. Compare the actual value with the specified value in the DAS (Powerplant/ME2.7.1/Actual values)
5. If necessary, correct the oil level accordingly, and set to "Maximum"
The corresponding oil replenishment quantities are stored in DAS with the F7 button "i"
