Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair

Replacing Front Crankshaft Radial Seal

Install retaining lock for crankshaft/ring gear

Remove belt pulley/vibration damper
- Examine contact surface of hub for signs of wear

Radial seal
- Use a screwdriver to prise out, when doing this, do not damage crankshaft and mounting bore for the radial seal. Use a clean rag

as a base.

NOTE:  Installation:  Install front crankshaft radial seal.

- Check for leaks with engine running

NOTE:  Spray the cleaned and dried surrounding area with MB white contrast spray and then check for oil leaks.
