Lowering
DANGER:

Injury hazard Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding due to splashing of hot coolant. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour
coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Open cooling system cap (1) at coolant expansion reservoir (2)
NOTE: 2-stage cap: Turn cap half a turn in the counterclockwise direction, release pressure, and then unscrew cap.

Remove engine compartment paneling

Drain coolant at radiator or at crankcase
NOTE:

Fit hose onto connection (3) on radiator or crankcase (5).

Open screw plug (4) at radiator or detach connection (5) at crankcase (on right and left).

Collect coolant

Disposing of coolant, Pay attention to legal provisions and/or local waste water regulations!

Refer to Environmental Protection Catalog issued by MBVD/PWU for locations in Germany.
Filling
CAUTION: If antifreeze protection of coolant is insufficient, either antifreeze agent must be added, or the coolant must be replaced.

Tighten screw plug (4) at radiator or connection (5) at crankcase

Pour in coolant

Bleed cooling system

Inspect cooling system for leaks.
