Pressure Pulsating Noise in Passenger Compartment

If you encounter instances of pressure pulsating noise in the passenger compartment on Models SLK230 or SLK320, please perform the following steps
to resolve.

Model SLK230:

A

Vehicles with no pressure damper installed.

Install pressure damper (part number 000 476 01 55) into fuel line leading from the fuel filter to frame floor (for installation location refer to WIS
AR47.20-P-5710GS).

Cut fuel line and adjust length to accommodate additional pressure damper.

Slide rubber ring part number 170 478 00 82 onto line to maintain gap between vent line and fuel filter after installment.

Install pressure damper into fuel line using clamps (part number 001 997 69 90).

B.

Vehicles with pressure damper already installed as original equipment.

-

Replace existing pressure damper with new pressure damper (part number 000 476 01 55) using clamps (part number 001 997 69 90).

Model SLK 320:

Replace existing pressure damper with part number 000 476 01 55 using clamps (part number 001 997 69 90).

Note:

Before replacing or installing new fuel pressure damper, release fuel pressure at the fuel rail test connection using tool/clamp 000 589 40 37 00 and
clamp off fuel pressure line from fuel pump to fuel filter. Check for fuel leak after installation of new part.
