A surging condition after vehicle speed control has been set may be caused by an inoperative circuit in the speed control servo. Because of the location
of the servo on 1983 Mustang/Capri with EFI and 1983 T-Bird/Cougar, water entry may cause the servo position potentiometer to short circuit resulting
in a surging condition. To service, replace the servo and install a newly released boot assembly over the servo.
For removal of the speed control servo, refer to Section 37-05-17 of the Shop Manual.

After removing the servo from the hinge pillar, disconnect vacuum lines and actuator cable at servo, disconnect electrical connector inside engine
compartment.

Remove mounting bracket from old servo and install on new servo assembly.

Feed actuator cable hoses and wiring through hole in servo boot, part no. (E4LY-9F774-A).

Connect actuator cable to servo clip and fasten cable cover to servo with two nuts.
