SUSPENSION - REAR - VEHICLE LEANS RIGHT
FORD 1985 CROWN VICTORIA
LINCOLN-MERCURY 1985 GRAND MARQUIS
Some of the subject vehicles may appear to lean right when the vehicle is viewed from the rear. This condition can be corrected by identifying the front
springs and installing a replacement spring of a lower load capacity in the left front or interchanging the left and right front springs.
Use the following procedure to service a leans-to-right rear condition.
1.
With vehicle on a level surface, do the following:
^
Adjust the tire pressures to specification.
^
Set the steering wheel in the straight ahead position.
^
Neutralize suspension by rocking vehicle sideways.
2.
Measure both rear wheel well openings, lip to ground, at the centerline of the wheel.
3.
Noting the amount of lean between the right side and left side in the rear, perform front spring changes using the following charts.
