Trunk / Liftgate Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair

Luggage Compartment Lid Lock Cylinder

Removal and Installation

NOTE:  Individual lock cylinders are repaired by discarding the inoperative lock cylinder and building a new lock cylinder using the appropriate lock
repair package. The lock repair package includes a detailed instruction sheet to build the new lock cylinder to the current key code of the vehicle.

1. Remove the license plate housing. For additional information, refer to Auxiliary Step / Running Board.

2. Release the clips and disconnect the luggage compartment lid lock cylinder cable.

3. If equipped, disconnect the luggage compartment anti-theft inhibit switch electrical connector.

4. Remove the 2 luggage compartment lid lock cylinder rivets.

5. Remove the luggage compartment lid lock cylinder.

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Use the special tool to install the new rivets.
