A white-brown colored substance may collect on the oil dipstick or inside the fill cap during operation in long periods of extremely cold temperatures
with no loss of engine coolant. This condition is due to the accumulation of moisture condensation within the crankcase vent system and may be serviced
on 1.6L engines (except EFI) by installing an external vent system using the following procedure:
1.
Remove and discard the rocker cover and gasket.

Remove and discard the three internal drain vent tubes located in the cylinder head drain-back holes. The tubes can easily be removed using needle
nose pliers without removing the head from the engine block assembly. Bend the tubes around the valve springs to remove them from the cylinder
(Figure 6).

Install the new rocker cover and gasket. Tighten bolts to 8-11 N-m.

Remove and discard the existing cap-plug located at the left rear upper corner of the engine block and install the crankcase vent tube (part number
