EMISSIONS RECALL NOTIFICATION:
In July, 1992 you were notified that Ford Motor Company was voluntarily recalling certain 1986-model Escort, Lynx and EXP cars. If you recently
acquired this car a previous owner was notified. Our letter indicated that the engine in car the identified above by vehicle identification/serial number
may be releasing air pollutants which exceed Federal standards.
Our records indicate that your car was not serviced by a Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealership.
TEMPORARY RECALL SERVICE SUSPENSION:
Shortly after the recall notification letters were sent, we learned that the recall service performed on some of the cars was not providing the intended
results. At that time, we informed you or the previous owner that the service provided by this recall had been temporarily suspended.
AVAILABILITY OF IMPROVED EMISSIONS RECALL SERVICE:
This letter is to notify you that improved recall service for your 1986-model Escort, Lynx or EXP car is now available.
