The rivet can be removed by using a sharp chisel and gently tapping around the head of the rivet to lift upward from the joint (Figure 11). With a pair of
side cutters, pry out the rivet (Figure 12).

The rivet can easily be installed by inserting it into the hole and tapping the pin of the rivet with a hammer until it is flush with the head of the rivet
(Figure 13).
