Parking Brake Control: Service and Repair
Parking Brake Control
Removal and Installation
1. Remove the front driver side door scuff plate and kick panel.
2. Release the parking brake cable tension. For additional information, refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release See: Parking Brake
Cable/Service and Repair/Procedures.
3. Remove the parking brake release handle bolt.

To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
4. Disconnect the parking brake warning indicator switch electrical connector and detach the harness pin-type retainer from the parking brake control
cover.
5. Remove the 2 parking brake control bolts.

To install, tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).
6. Remove the 2 parking brake control nuts.

To install, tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).
7. Remove the parking brake control.

Disconnect the front parking brake cable.
8. NOTE: Make sure that the cable is in the groove on the control wheel prior to final tightening of fasteners.
