Removal and Installation

All engines

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.

2. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding  See: Cooling System/Service and

Repair.

3. If equipped, remove the 7 screws and the underbody cover.

2.5L engine

4. Position the block heater heat shield aside.

3.5L engine

5. Remove the RH catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to Exhaust System &/or Catalytic Converter.

6. Remove the block heater heat shield.

All engines

7. NOTICE: Make sure that the block heater wiring is routed and secured away from rotating or hot components, or damage to the wiring

can occur.

Disconnect the block heater electrical connector.

8. Remove the block heater.

To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
