Catalytic Converter - Underbody

Removal and Installation

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.

2. Remove and discard the 2 exhaust flexible pipe-to-catalytic converter nuts.

Discard the gasket.

-

To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

3. Remove the Torca(R) clamp. For additional information, refer to Torca(R) Clamp  See: Service and Repair/Torca(R) Clamp.

4. Separate the catalytic converter from the muffler and tail pipe.

-

Remove the catalytic converter.

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

-

Install a new gasket and nuts.

6. Start the engine and check for exhaust leaks.
