Wheel Fastener: Service and Repair
Rear Suspension - Wheel Studs

Wheel Studs

NOTE:  Front Wheel Drive (FWD) vehicle shown, All-Wheel Drive (AWD) similar.

Removal

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.

2. Remove the wheel bearing and wheel hub. For additional information, refer to Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub  See: Wheel Bearing/Service and

Repair/Rear Suspension - Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub.

3. Using a press, remove the wheel stud from the wheel hub.

Installation

1. Position the new wheel stud in the wheel hub, aligning the serrations in the wheel hub flange made by the original wheel stud.

2. Using a press, install the new wheel stud.

3. Install the wheel bearing and wheel hub. For additional information, refer to Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub  See: Wheel Bearing/Service and
