Mountaineer 2WD V8-302 5.0L VIN P SFI (2000)
1. Note: Install the cotter pin into the lower ball joint from outboard to inboard with the fingers bent together at a right angle. Failure to do so will
cause damage to the wheel and tire assembly.
Install the lower ball joint castellated nut.

Position the front wheel spindle to the lower ball joint.

Install the lower ball joint castellated nut.

Install a new cotter pin.
2. Install the pinch bolt and nut.

Position the front wheel spindle.

Install the pinch bolt and nut.
3. Remove the jack from under the front suspension lower arm.
4. CAUTION: Install the cotter pin into the lower ball joint from outboard to inboard with the fingers bent together at a right angle. Failure to do so
will cause damage to the wheel and tire assembly.
Connect the tie rod end to the front wheel spindle.

Position the tie rod end.

Install the tie rod end castellated nut.
3
Install a new cotter pin.
