Auxiliary Evaporator Core

AUXILIARY EVAPORATOR CORE

Removal and Installation

NOTE:  Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system, except when there is physical evidence of
contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.

1. Remove the auxiliary heater core and evaporator core housing.
2. Disconnect the thermostatic expansion valve inlet fitting.

Discard the O-ring seal.

To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).

3. Disconnect the auxiliary evaporator outlet fitting.

Discard the O-ring seals.

4. Remove the 6 auxiliary evaporator core cover screws and position the wire harness aside.
5. Remove the auxiliary evaporator core cover.
6. Remove the auxiliary evaporator core.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Install new O-ring seals.

Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.
