Mountaineer 2WD V8-4.6L VIN 8 (2006)
2. Place a drain pan under the transmission fluid pan.
3. Remove the drain plug and drain the fluid.
4. NOTE: The transmission fluid pan gasket is reusable, clean and inspect for damage. If not damaged, the gasket should be reused.
Remove the 16 transmission fluid pan screws, fluid pan and gasket.
5. Remove and discard the transmission fluid filter.
6. Clean and inspect the transmission fluid pan and magnet.
Installation
1. CAUTION: Damage may occur to fluid filter seals if they are not lubricated with clean automatic transmission fluid.
